About me
Maxwell shirley is a multi-instrumentalist, teacher, arranger, composer, and session musician working out of Cincinnati Ohio. He has been playing guitar for 8 years, has become competent on bass, keys, and vocals, and studied at CCM where he did two years of music education and then moved on to jazz studies which he got a degree in. he has played in many bands such as: SEE1, The Sparkles, Antematter, Anti-Social, Rosewood coast, and the Max shirley trios. He has performed at venues such as Fountain square in cincinnati, the Tin roof bars, and the Rock and Roll hall of fame twice. He has been teaching music since high school when he took over the Guitar 1 class for a year and has been doing private lessons for 5 years since then with well over 50 students. He is a well seasoned veteran of playing musicals and being hired out as help for bands in need of a guitarist for last minute gigs. He studied with the illsustrious Bradford Myers at CCM and has worked with many musicians such as Carlos Vargas and Benjamin Thomas. His playing style is eclectic. He has worked on many different styles to gain all around knowledge to play any gig. His original music would be described as Indie fusion where he takes new spins on all kinds of music blending different genres and having emotional and surreal lyrics.He is an adaptable musician of the modern age.
